Kayla Morrissey 2...Personal Statement
My name is Kayla Morrissey, and am a Senior this year at Lyons Township High School in La Grange, IL. I was a Varsity starter for both the basketball and softball team as a sophomore. I like to challenge myself physically as well as mentally. Academics are very important to me, as I know they will shape my future. Basketball is my passion. It has been that way since first grade. Basketball is the perfect game for me, as I am a very competitive and serious person. I play the guard and small forward positions. I started on varsity as a sophomore, and I was a 2-Year Captain of the team. My team is like a second family. I was very happy to be awarded All Area MVP (Cook) as well as All-Conference this season. Also, I play AAU basketball for Illinois Connections, and it has made me a better player. I'm happy to add that I was voted MVP last year (Junior) of my Varsity softball team and was named All Conference and All Area. It's my dream to play basketball at a good college, where I can get a solid education and play on a great team.
