Jazmin Vazquez '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jazmin Vazquez and am in the graduating class of 2015 at Belvidere High School in Belvidere, Illinois.  I am a 5'5" left handed point guard/shooting guard with long arms and good speed.  My lengthy arms help me on the defensive end of the court as I get a good amount of steals, deflections, and stops on fast breaks. As a junior, I am a varsity team starter along side 3 seniors and 1 other junior. I am a versatile player who can shoot the '3',  get to the basket, shoot free throws, and confuse my opponents with my left handed jumper.  I am a strong ball handler with both left and right hands. I have been playing AAU travel basketball for Full Package athletics out of the Northbrook/Deerfield area. Since my freshman year, I have started on the JV team my previous years, this year I am starting on varsity. I also play golf and have been on varsity since my freshman year, placed in the top 20 of my conference my sophomore year and placed in the top 10 my junior year. I was named First Team All-Conference in the NIC-10 and went to sectionals this fall. As a two sport varsity athlete, I keep busy very by working out and hitting the gym to work on my shot consistently. I am very focused on and off the court with both sports and school work. Some day I plan on being an actuary and involve my career around the government. My hopes are to graduate from college with a masters degree in actuarial science and as a 4-year collegiate athlete in basketball and golf.
