For as long as I can remember I have been interested in sports. I tried playing soccer, volleyball, cross country and finally basketball. Once I got my hands on that basketball and went up for a lay-up it was like I had made a connection with the ball, the net and the court. At last I had a focal point for my energy, I was hooked. I fell in love with the game.
As I played on recreational co-ed teams and girls AAU teams I kept pushing myself, learning, listening and growing not only with the skills I needed on the court but with skills I needed in my everyday life. Like focus, determination, getting along with others, integrity, fairness, cooperation, respect and leadership.
Playing basketball has been an amazing experience. I have been given the opportunity to travel to other states and play in front of many college coaches and scouts, I have met and made many incredible friends along the way and I have been privileged to pursue something I am passionate about.
