Malikarose Abdussalaam '11 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Rose. I was born in Ohio but moved to Delaware begining of basketball season during my 8th grade year. I am 5'10 and i weigh 160 pounds. I am currently 17. I have been playing organized basketball since the age of seven. I play three sports on the Varsity Starting level, they are; field hockey, basketball, and soccer. I am currently the top ranked rebounder in the state of delaware also in the top 10 in scoring, blocks and steals verified by Maxpreps.com. I recieved All-Confrence honors in three sports as well. I have been selected as the captain of these teams because of my leadership abilities according to my coaches. For the last two years I have been chosen as MVP and the student of promise for each of the sports that I participate in. I push hard in all my sports. I do not believe in being babied as an athlete, i feel that it is my job to give it my all in everything. I have a 4.5 GPA. I love Math it is my favorite class. My father has also pushed me really hard to be the athlete I am today through the martial arts. I am a leader I encourage other players in everyway whether it be on the court/field and off. I have always wanted to go to college and play sports i feel it was how i was made.My mother is currently in nursing school, she is 35, she had to drop out of college when she had me so this is the time she is able to go back to school. My father is the master counseler in the New Castle county Correctional facilities, he is also in the national guard. Im looking to go to a any type of school would be acceptable to me as long as they provide the majors i want and the sports im intrested in. My athletic goals are to play a considerable amount of time in college and be a leader to the team and win as many games as i can for my coach, school, team and family. I am an extremely hard worker, i take criticism well and have a very high respect for authority, i will do what it takes to win and make you as my coach proud.
