Brittney Zec '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Brittney Zec and I am currently a senior at Broomfield High School in Broomfield, CO. Im a 5'7" point guard and weigh 135 lbs (unless you weigh me after I've stuffed myself with my Moms Enchiladas!) . I've been really fortunate and lucky to be a part of a successful high school program. My school is the current 5 Peat State Champions, and we are the first in Colorado Women's Basketball History to do so! Individually, I was named first team All Conference, and first team All Tournament in this year's Fairview Festival. I've lettered on Varsity all four years, but have been serving as a major contributor since my Sophmore Year. I like to think that I'm a true point guard. I get the ball to who needs it, I have the ability to score, I'm a leader on and off the court, and I feel my best when my team looks their best. I'm known for my smothering defense! Basketball is my life, but I've surrounded myself with many extra curricular activities as well. I've been a three sport varisity athlete since freshman year (track and CC), I'm senior class president, I volunteer with many groups such as referee for the local Recreation League and our local food bank.  I attended the nationally reconized National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C, I've qualified for State in all three of my sports, and I was nominated Homecoming Queen by my peers. Something that everyone knows me for is my personality. I am super outgoing, and radiate energy anywhere I go or to anyone I meet! In fact, my major that I am looking to pursue reflects that perfectly. Since 3rd grade, I've wanted to be in Broadcast Journalism. I'm very fortunate compared to other High School Students because I have vision and know exactly what I want to do with my life. Besides Energy, the things I can bring to a team are leadership, hardwork and dedication. I've played in many high pressure game situations before, and that is something that not many point guards can say. Sure, a lot of people can handle the ball, but not many of them can do it with 5,000 fans watching!  Also, my hardwork, dedication, and passion for the game are assets that no one can teach. I take each drill one by one, and give it my all every practice. My family already applied for the FAFSA but financial aid would be a huge help. I'm open to all schools and I look forward to talking with you soon!
