Mikaela Stanton '12 Recruiting Profile

Im a very outgoing person and a leader on and off the court. I love playing basketball because of the excitement of the game, the relationships built with teammates and opponents, and working hard to achieve self and team goals.I am determined to do my best at all times and I always look for ways to improve. I have been playing basketball for about 12 years and I can never get enough of it. Im a senior and I have been on the Vista High School Girls Varsity team for 3 years. Last season i received 2nd Team All-League and i am ranked the 2nd best 3-point shooter in North County. I have been to the Point Guard College Camp and I play for a club team called Gamepoint. I have a lot to offer to any team because i can be a leader by performance, inspiration, and communication.It has been a dream of mine to play basketball at the college level, which is why is spend so much time in the gym outside of practices and games trying to better my skills.I would like to attend a college in the Northern California Area, because i would love to be close to my family; however i have always had an interest in going to the East area or the closer states like Arizona, Colorado and Oregon because i have family there as well as the fact that im looking to experience different places and opportunity. Im looking for a school that offers a good education and a good basketball program that I can take part in, im open to try different types of schools as well. My desired major is Kinesiology or a career that involves children in any form. My goals as an athlete are to get into a college and be able to receive a good education as well as play basketball.
