I have been playing basketball since I could remember. I tried other sports, but none got my attention like ball. I began playing when i was 10 years old in the city league where I grew up. I've always been known as the tall girl and basketball showed that it was meant for me. I often played center or a power forward because there was never anyone taller. After my season playing in Santa Ana, I was told about a clinic in Downey. This opportunity opened up a new door and I was put to the challenge to succeed in a short period of time. I continued playing in Downey and I was pushed to my limit. I had never been pushed so hard in my life to be a basketball player. All the hours spent in the gym and all the tears i shed, eventually paid off. By my 8th grade year I had turned into a competitive athlete on and off the court. I had spent those two in a half years paying in many tournaments, leagues, training sessions, and coaches by many different coaches. In this period of time i had played in Whittier and L.A county. I learned what playing basketball really was. I was taught how dedication, hard work, motivation, determination, responsibility, and discipline help build a better character.
