I am a 5’10” senior at Albany High School with a 3.5 GPA. I have been a Varsity player for four years and a captain for two. My height allows me to play small forward but my speed, ball handling abilities, and 3-point shot make me a strong shooting guard as well. I consider myself a well-rounded player; someone who can penetrate but also post up.
I have played organized basketball since second grade and have developed a strong basketball IQ during that time. As a 10th grader, I was one of 10 players selected to represent the North in the annual North-South (Calif.) Games in the Asian League. As an 11th grader, I played on the AAU CalStars 2014 Elite team.
In both the gym and the classroom I strive to challenge myself to become the best player and student I can be. Not only am I a leader on the court but off as well. I have been an elected member of my school’s Student Government for the last two years. I see leadership as an opportunity to help myself and others become better individuals.
I want to play basketball at the collegiate level because I have played and loved the game for the past ten years and I cannot imagine life without it. I would like to attend a small to medium-sized college that will nurture both my athletic and academic passions.
