I have been playing basketball since I was 7 years old, and started club at age 10. I am lucky to have parents who have always supported me in everything and a brother who I can learn from as I move ahead, he is a basketball player at Trinity Univ. in TX, and also a good student. And, my coaches help and push me to be at my best both in school and in basketball. I am still undecided for a major, but am interested in psychology or exercise/sports science. My GPA in the 3 years I have attended Dobson HS is approx. 3.33 (please see the attached transcript notes on profile), and I will have at least a 3.0 officially upon graduation based upon my current progress.
My dream is to attend a 4 year college and play basketball at a very competitive level. I am a power forward, but can play 3,4 or 5. My high school team runs an aggressive game both on offense and defense using 4 guards and me, we press the whole game and get a lot of points off of transition. I am very fast and have quick hands for my size, and can run the floor with the guards, often finishing fast breaks and being first back on defense. I am also physically strong, and am very good at getting position in the block and boxing out. I am a very aggressive defender and rebounder even against taller girls, and always have a lot of steals and blocks, in addition to rebounds. Offensively, I can either finish strong in the block or pop out for the outside shot.
My coaches will say that I am a team leader, have strong character, and bring toughness. I have also been taught to do what is best for our team, and it shows in our success, we have been one of the top Div.1 teams in AZ every year. I will be the hardest worker on my college team, and will bring whatever it takes to help my team win games and be successful at the next level.
