I started playing basketball because of Brittney Griner, she inspired me. I was playing on the varsity level in the 9th grade after completing my junior high season at Loachapoka High School. During my first year on varsity, my team went to the state finals at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center but we fell short! As my love for the game grew, so did my talent. I went from getting little play time to a starting position and jumping ball my junior year! As my senior year approaches I am more eager than ever to finish strong and help my team not only make it to the finals but bring home the championship. I want to major in Secondary Education (Science) because I love being able to help others learn and and grow. I've wanted to become a teacher since Fourth Grade and nothing except determination and the desire to succeed and make a positive impact on my community and those whose life I can enhance.
