My goal is to play Division 1 or Division 2 Softball at a four year college while pursuing my educational goals. I in my second year of college at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA playing Division 2 softball. I plan on completing my two years at E.C.C. and then want to continue playing at a higher level my junior and senior years. During my first year at Ellsworth Community College I started at the shortstop position and I had the second highest batting average on my team. I was also Honorable Mention All Region. Next season I plan to play second base or outfield, which are my two strongest positions. In conference play at ECC, I had an AVR of .347, OBP of .392, SLG of .528 with 10 doubles and 13 RBIS. I am also on the Dean's list and am a new member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
In 2012 I was named Player of the Year for the Classic 8 Conference which gave me First Team All Conference Honors, Team MVP, Team Captain, .481 BA, .587 OBP, .810 SLG, Scholar Athlete, Sportsmanship Award and received three scholarships. I was a pitcher and short stop in high school and I bat both right and left handed. Our team tied for 2nd place in the conference in 2012. I was Player of the Year Runner Up in 2011, First Team All Conference (Utility) and lead my high school team in runs scored (30), triples (4), home runs (6) and batting average (.433; I was also my club team's utility player having played LF, 1B, SS and 3rd base; We qualified and played at the USA/ASA National Tournament in 2011 (Tennessee). also played 4 years of Varsity Volleyball and was named All Conference for three years. I am confident that my skills, speed, versatility, statistics and my overall softball knowledge will allow me a successful college career. I have been very successful academically in my first year of college and had above a 3.75 GPA in high school and took almost all honors or AP classes. I hope to be recognized for both my academic and athletic abilities to offset my college expenses. My strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile definitely have contributed to my overall success.
