I attend Brookfield Central High School lettering as a varsity freshman in both volleyball and softball during the 2013/14 seasons. As a freshman, I was named 2nd Team All Conference for Outfield in softball. That year, my high school team lost in the Sectional Finals by one run against Germantown who went on to lose in the semifinals.
As a sophomore, I again lettered in both softball and volleyball. I was named to the First Team All Conference and All Suburban Honorable Mention for softball. I was also named Captain of our softball team.
As a junior, I again lettered on the varsity volleyball team and softball team. In softball I was First Team All Conference, High Honorable Mention All Suburban, Honorable Mention South East Region as well as Captain and awarded the Coach's Award for Leadership
I have played for the Pride of the Midwest club team since I was 7 years old. I was introduced to this club and fastpitch softball by my neighbor and good friend and have loved every minute! This season was very successful! We played seven tournaments and traveled extensively throughout the Midwest. We won two tournaments, took 2nd at the NSA World Series, and 3rd at the NSA A State.
My coaches have told me that I am very fundamentally sound regarding my outfielding, batting and footwork mechanics. In addition, they have complimented my leadership abilities both on the field and off. They have called me very coachable - although really great coaches make it easy to be coachable! I believe in hard work and repetition. I have a batting tee in my basement where I can be found with music blaring and working on my swing. When I first started playing, my father had me bat as a lefty. This is a huge advantage because I am one step closer to first base and pitchers find it harder to pitch to me which results in more inside pitches which I take down the middle or to right field.
Academics are a very important part of my high school experience. I currently have a 3.7 GPA while taking both honors and AP courses. I have found that I can manage softball and my studies very well. I am currently undecided however I am leaning towards a college major focusing around history, law, government and politics.
