I have been playing softball since I was four years old. I fell in love with the game the first time I stepped on the field. It has always been a dream of mine to play softball in college and I’ve taken every opportunity to go to college games and camps to try and experience what college softball is truly like. The game of softball has afforded me the chance to play around Washington State and around the country.
I have always worked to be a leader on the field, whether it is by example or by encouraging my teammates. I always push myself and I strive to be the best I can be. I love getting better at the game I love and welcome coaching so I can improve my skills. The college that recruits me will find I am a hard worker that cares about improvement and contributing to the team any way I can.
I consider myself fortunate to be a starter for my high school varsity team in my freshman year and was willing to learn a new position because that is where I could best help the team. This team was a state participant last year with only one graduating senior. I think my willingness to do whatever I can to benefit the team is an asset that will help my future college team.
In the classroom, I strive for greatness. I always want to maintain a high GPA. It is my desire to be a well-rounded student-athlete, and I always make sure the student part comes first. I realize that eventually my athletic career will come to an end, but my education will last me a lifetime. I constantly challenge myself in the classroom by taking classes like Honors Biology.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself to achieve at high levels both in the classroom and on the field. I am open to collegiate options and I eventually want to attend the college that is the right fit for me.
After completing college it is my goal to pursue a career in sports medicine. A career in this field will allow me to continue to contribute to the sport by helping athletes maintain their health and get back on the field quickly after injuries.
I hope to one day be a role model for many female athletes and I wish to help the sport of softball grow.
