Amanda Cahow '14 Recruiting Profile

My main goal is to aquire a quality education while fulfilling my lifelong dream of playing collegiate softball. I'm very self driven to excel both on the field and in the classroom. My primary position both in travel and school ball is catching. I've been catching for almost 8 years and on my 18U Gold Team I currently have a .980 fielding percentage through 26 games. I'm very passionate about my academics as well and I'm looking for a school that will be a good fit academically as well as athletically. For many years I have aspired to be a Marine Biologist/Marine Scientist. Since I know Grad School is definitely in my future, I am looking at schools that offer my chosen major as well as schools that may offer alternate career paths in my chosen field. My main goals academically are to rank in the top 10 of my class and aquire the IB Scholar Diploma. I'm currently 13th out of 549 with a 4.047 GPA. My main goals in softball are to increase my running times, achieve a consistent throwdown time of 1.6 (currently it's 1.7-1.8), and continue working on a secondary position (shortstop). I believe no goal is too high if you are willing to work hard to achieve it and I firmly believe I will achieve the goals I have set for myself.
