I am a very hard worker and try to adjust when someone teaches me something new. I am this way with academics and sports. Whenever I am put into a situation with new people, I try to be well-liked and make sure I have a good attitude towards everyone.

Varsity Softball, Outfield (Grades 9-12): Maintained membership on a squad that made it to the “Final Four” of the Northern Virginia Regional Tournament. Assumed starting position since the ninth grade. Benefited from playing alongside team mates who were older and more experienced.
Alexandria Tsunami Travel Fastpitch Club Team, Outfield (Grades 8-12): Participated in a rigorous practice schedule in preparation in preparation for high-level weekend competitions. Traveled throughout the East Coast for games that included both high school and college students. Improved batting performance against elite pitching.
Varsity Basketball, Shooting Guard (Grades 9-12): Continued to build speed and endurance through involvement as a year-round athlete. Collaborated with teammates in order to vastly improve the overall record of the female team. Earned distinction of advancing to the Northern Virginia Regional Tournament for the first time in a decade..
Hollin Meadows Summer Recreational Swim Team (Grades 2-10): Swam in 50m Freestyle and 100m Medley. Broke personal records by registering faster meet times. Medley relay broke existing pool records. Advanced to NVSL “All-Stars”.
Junior Varsity Field Hockey (Grade 9): Mastered the fundamentals of a new sport. Displayed dedication to strength and conditioning.
Extracurricular Activities
Leadership Team, Student Government Association (Grades 11-12): Fostered school spirit through involvement in the organizational planning of the Homecoming and Prom dances. Served as a role model for incoming freshmen by serving in the outreach orientation program, “Wolverine Welcome”. Generated community awareness about pertinent topics such as “Substance Abuse” and “Health and Wellness”.
Freshmen Mentoring Program (Grade 12): Helped a core group of ninth grade students successfully transition into the academic and extracurricular life of West Potomac High School. Met on a bi-weekly basis in order to trouble shoot potential adjustment problems in meeting the demands of challenging course work.
Hype Squad, President (Grade 12): Organized a network of students in order to generate cheers and enthusiasm for all sporting events. Helped to strengthen community ties across all grade levels.
Best Buddies (Grades 11-12): Worked individually with a peer who was attending the Pulley Center in order to address the challenges associated with intellectual disabilities. Sponsored dances and seasonal events to promote social connections during Halloween and other designated holidays.
West Potomac High School Softball Camp (Grades 9-12): Volunteered as “Big Sister” to elementary school children. Taught the fundamentals of softball on three consecutive weekends during the winter months as a prelude to the upcoming season.
West Potomac High School Basketball Camp (Grade 12): Fostered confidence and skill-building for younger female athletes who were beginning to learn about the sport. Strengthened communication and organizational skills. Learned how to efficiently plan effective practice drills.
Community Service
Hollin Meadows Tutoring Service (Grades 11-12): Served a volunteer tutor at the local elementary school. Assisted children with mathematical skill development.
Sock It to Homelessness (Grades 11-12): Gathered clothes and food items that were organized into care packages. Delivered donated goods to families located in challenged neighborhoods in the Anacostia section of the District of Columbia.
Aldersgate International Service Trip (Grade 11): Traveled to a church group in order to perform community service in small, rural villages. Built cinder block stoves for families and laid the foundation for an elementary school. Augmented understanding about the struggles associated with extreme poverty through interaction with the local villagers.
Work Experience
Del Ray Pizza, Belle Haven (Grades 11-12): Worked as a server for ice cream and custard as a summer seasonal job. Increased public relations skills when filling customer orders.
The Moery Company (Grade 11): Performed clerical work for the CEO of a company that provides marketing services for home associations. Inputted data into the computer system, Sales Force.
