Kelsey Vana '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kelsey Vana, and I am a Junior at Weimar High School in Weimar, Texas. I am 5'5" and 145 lbs. I started out my Freshman year as the JV pitcher and was on Varsity as an ocassional outfielder and base runner. My Sophmore year, I became the starting Varsity catcher along with playing outfield at times. Last year, we made the play-offs as a 3rd place team and I recieved Honorable Mention. I played with alot of heart, and was one of our team leaders and captains. It is my dream to play college softball. I am very open to playing for any college as long as I can continue my softball career and recieve a good education. I plan to major in either Respiratory Therapy, Radiology Therapy, or Sports Medicine. My goals as a prospective collegiate athlete is to play at the highest possible level of competition. I am aiming for a D1, but I always have to be realistic with my skill level, so a D2 or D3 is just as fine with me as well as a Junior College. I want to make an impact on the team. I would like to be the person who helps all my teammates have the same drive and love of the game of softball as I have, and I want to push them all to give 110% at ALL times.
