My desire to play college softball comes from my passion to push myself to become the strongest individual I could possibly become. Softball allows me the perfect platform to exhibit my attributes of leadership, athleticism, mental strength, and teamwork all within one amazing game. The energy that courses through me when I get into the box is unlike any other, and the adrenaline that a fast play gives me shows me that on the softball field is where I belong.
I have always made it a point to be the hardest worker on and off the field. I have been told I am one of the hardest workers my various coaches have ever seen, and I do not think that any player should ever give less than their best. I have respect for those that never give up, and that is a motto I live by. Every team needs strong leaders that they can depend on when the game is not going our way, and I strive to be that leader. Being vocal on the field and in the dugout, allows me to keep the momentum on my team’s side. My history within track and field has magnified my speed around the bases and on the field. My aptitude for speed and accuracy gives me the ability to play “small ball,” allows me to advance further than other players on the bases, and gives me the power stop the hits that are out of reach of other players. No one pushes me harder than myself, and this crosses over into my academics. I have always seen academics as being of utmost importance, and dedication to my studies has allowed me to the opportunity to take dual credit classes. In addition to a devout work ethic, leadership values, speed, and high academic standards, I hold a mentality of always wanting and knowing I can learn more gives me a high coachability level. I wish to be the best in everything I do, and I know that wisdom, experience, and the coaching of others will help me get to the top of my sport.
What I am looking for in the college softball program that I become a part of is a coaching staff that puts emphasis on the strength of each individual player in order to be an invincible team. I work best with coaches that see the value in each player and work hard to maximize the potential of each player. Also, I play the best when I play for a coach who continually pushes me in my weaknesses in addition to my strengths. Unity is a very important concept to me, so a softball program that wishes to unify all their players into a spirit of teamwork is a program that I would fit into perfectly. I wish to be apart of a program that allows me to earn playing time and contribute to the team early in my college career. I will be a a benefit to my team through my speed, offense skills, and defense abilities. Finally, I am looking for a coach that sets high standards of respect and integrity within his or her softball program by first modeling those attributes and then expecting them from their team.
I am teamwork oriented, devoted to hard work, immersed in academics, a leader, an encourager on and off the field, and fiery passionate about my softball career. A college that has a softball program that magnifies these qualities is where I am going to attend.
