Amanda Timmerman '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Amanda Timmerman and it is a pleasure to introduce myself to you, and I want to thank you in advance for viewing my profile.   I would not have believed when I was 8 years old that I would be pursuing the dream of playing college softball.  My coach (alias Mom) forced me to pitch because she didn’t have anyone for the position.   Being the obedient and respectful person I am, I rose to the challenge and have not looked back.  I started playing travel ball in the 12U division in North Carolina where I played until an unexpected move to Texas my sophomore year in high school.  Having played with my friends for many years it was a difficult transition because I was a well known pitcher in the travel community and after the move no one knew me.  I learned that you don’t always get the opportunities you dream of but persistence and hard work pays off in the end.  I have similar values when it comes to my education.  I have strived each year to maintain my straight “A” record since I started school and am highly self-motivated to be the very best at anything I set my sights on.  I know you will not be disappointed having me on the field or in your dugout with my contagious desire to be a champion.  I love this game!
