I've played softball since I was little. It has taught me a lot of things about life. These are some things I've learned: You won't always be the winner, so there's no need to be a sore loser. Learn from the mistakes and become better. You might miss a ball on occasion but life keeps rolling along...so it's best to roll with the punches. Those slides can be tuff, but life is tougher. Dust yourself off and keep going. Life isn't always about the sprints; you must have endurance as well. You might miss the corners of the plate once in a while and give a meatball up the middle.... So what, "next pitch" (Brian Cain). You might even be the one struck out at the plate. Just remember next time up, keep your eye on the goal and swing with everything you've got. Softball is not a one girl show... It takes a team. So when you feel like you are alone, just know you have the best defense behind you. Accept the cheers as well as the jeers, but make sure what comes out of your mouth is encouraging... Kindness will go a lot further than any home run. Be humble when you do pull out a victory and gracious when defeat knocks at the door. Keep your chin up and cleats ready because there will always be another mountain to scale or another field to conquer. It's never over... You just keep moving on.
