Madison Brunson '20 Recruiting Profile

The town I have grown up in has shaped the person and softball player I have become. I say this because of some of the adversities that come with living in a small town.  One of the main challenges includes not having training facilities within 40 miles like some other players might have. My families, who I am so grateful for, have dedicated so much of their time to make sure I get the training I need and a chance to compete on a very good travel team. I’ve played on a select travel team since I was 10 years old, and after have some struggles in the game early on; I have learned you have to be strong. Not only do you have to be strong fundamentally on the field, but strong mentally both on the field and off.  I believe I not only have the talent to add value on a team, but the work ethic, mental fortitude, and leadership skills to make a lasting impact.

I am looking for a university that can challenge me both on the field and in the class room. My ultimate academic goal is to achieve a degree that will allow me to work in the medical field. In the town of Cameron they teach you many important values, but the two that have always meant so much to me are, to always value tradition, to always strive to be the best student and athlete I can be. I hope that I will one day get to play for a university that also pushes their student to be the best they can be.
