Emma Cannon '21 Recruiting Profile

     Every young athlete has the dream of going to college and playing their sport at the highest level. Goals and aspirations such as these have been the major key to helping me develop the right attitude, character, and work ethic throughout my life. I have been playing softball from a very young age, and even on my worst days being on the field brings me pleasure that to many is unimaginable.

     I work several hours a day, multiple days a week to get better and improve my skills so I can excel in the game I love. My passion and desire to get better is what I would believe to be one of my strongest and most valuable traits, I'm willing to put in endless hours of hard work on and off of the diamond in order to make myself stand out. Although standing out as an "all star" player is great, my parent's morals and principles (which are now mine) have lead me to learn that being a good teammate and person with the drive to get better will take you farther than any amount of all star plaques that hang on your bedroom wall.

     I am well aware of how slim the chances are of playing softball at a Division 1 college are, and the effort it will take to get there, but I'm also aware of the fact that people can do incredible, unthinkable things when it is their burning desire in life. Softball is not just a game to me, it's something ingrained in me as a person , that I couldn't even begin to imagine living without. I have and will continue to put in the time, blood, sweat, and tears that is necessary to take me to the next level. I do not want to be good enough, I want to be the absolute best I can be, I want to grow each day as a person, player, and student. I want to continue to educate myself while playing the game I love, that is why I work to play college softball.
