Hi my name is Lauren Dowell and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I play varsity softball for the Alleghany Trojans in the mountains of Sparta, North Carolina. So you could say, I am a small town girl with big aspirations! I am an outgoing, feisty girl who is grounded by family and faith. I played varsity both my freshman and sophomore year. I am a very dedicated person both on and off the field. My academics are something I take very seriously and take a lot of pride in. I have received several awards for academic achievements. The Alleghany County Board of Education presented me with the athletic academic award for the county in 2014. Softball is my passion, but I have always dedicated myself as a scholar and continue to strive in academics. I have also been a member of the Beta Club and my church youth group since the 6th grade. Both of these memberships keep me very active in the community. It doesn't matter what it is I always put 100% effort in, especially softball. For the past 2 years, I have played on a travel team that competed in the summer and fall. Not only do I play on the school softball team , but with the school's summer team as well. I have not completely decided my major, but I do know that I want to go into the medical field. I am looking at possibly majoring in sports medicine or physical therapy.
