Personal Statement

As a student athlete, it is my continuous goal to balance my academics and my sports. I strive to do my best in everything I do, whether it's on the field, in school, or just in life. I believe that I would make a good candidate for a team because I have a great work ethic and will never give up. My collegiate goals include maintaining my grades in order to pursue my dream career, and playing the game I love of softball. I've been playing since I was 10 and have loved it ever since. I never feel like I have to go to practice, I feel like I am blessed to get to go to practice. An opportunity like playing college softball would be a dream come true. And if I am blessed enough to experience my dream, I promise I will work extremely hard to make it worth while.

Guilford College Softball Camp

We went through some hitting, fielding and pitching drills with coaches and Guilford players. We also scrimmaged several innings. I played right field 4 innings where I made several catches with no errors. I pitched two innings with one strikeout, allowed only one hit and no runs scored. Batting, I went 1 for 2 with a single up the middle.

I participated in the pitching spotlight on the 2nd. On Saturday I attended the different clinics in the morning and played 4 games in the afternoon.

Today, I attended the North Greenville University Softball Prospect Camp. The camp included throwing, fielding and hitting, along with scrimmaging. We scrimmaged several innings. I pitched one inning and gave up only 1 hit and 0 runs scored. I had 1 strikeout, and had 0 walks with one putout on a bunt. I played 2nd base for one inning.

Today, I attended the Belmont Abbey Softball Clinic held at Belmont Abbey College. The clinic involved throwing, fielding and individual drills, along with scrimmages in the afternoon. In the morning, I participated in the pitching part of the clinic with Coach Jim Daley. In the afternoon, we played two scrimmage games. I pitched a total of two innings and gave up only 2 hits and 1 run scored. I had 1 strikeout, and had 0 walks. The rest of the games I played 2nd base with 0 errors and 2 putouts.

I participated in the Tusculum College camp with my team the Jets. We ran drills which involved fielding and throwing. I also was able to play in two scrimmage games, where I pitched and played second. While pitching, I gave up only one hit and had an ERA of 0.00 in 4 innings.
