Hi Coach! My name is Olivia Davoli. I'm currently a Senior at West Genesee H.S in Camillus, NY. Sports is a big part of who I am. I grew up across the street from a baseball field and ever since I can remember, I played baseball almost every single day. In high school, I switched over to softball. Even though I played volleyball through the JV level and am currently a member of my school's Varsity basketball team, softball is my passion. The last few years I've developed the attitude; "play" sports, "train" softball! I definitely think it has helped me become the athlete I am today.
My goal is to play college softball! I'd like to find a four year school and play for a conference championship! I'd like to contribute to a quality program and play at the highest level I can. If you get a chance to see me play, you'll see a "gamer" who loves to be on the field. I'm different from some other recruits because I'm very "coach-able" and EXTREMELY competitive. I feel I'd be a great candidate for your team because I'm willing to put the time in on the field AND IN THE CLASSROOM! I think you'll even agree with some of my former coaches that I'm a "great teammate" and a even a "leader".
Speaking of my coaches, please read what my basketball coach, Coach Spreter says about me. Granted, this is not from one of my softball coaches, but I feel playing basketball has helped me become a better softball player. It keeps me in really good shape, works on my agility and strengthens teamwork skills.
OLIVIA DAVOLI
"I had the pleasure of coaching Olivia Davoli this past season on our Varsity Basketball Team here at West Genesee. Olivia is someone who I looked forward to talking with and coaching every single day. What makes her unique is her personality, hard work, and selfishness.
Olivia brings great energy to the group, she is consistently upbeat and is someone who is easy to talk to. I would always look forward to talking to Olivia before practices and games because she always could carry on a conversation and find a way to make me and her teammates laugh.
Olivia has a great personality and she is also a hard worker and ruthless competitor on the court. We didn’t have anyone work harder than she did all season long, she consistently gave 100%. She always stepped up the competition level during our practices. She doesn’t have an off switch, when other girls may begin to take a play off or not go quite as hard Olivia brings their level back up by her example. Whenever we would lose a little steam we would be sure to pick back up when we get Olivia into the mix.
Olivia was such a joy to be around and always worked. That’s because Olivia cares more about her teammates and our team’s success than she does about how many points she scores or how much playing time she gets. She gets it, she understands that its not about what your team can do for you, but it’s about what you can do for your team. She cares about her teammates and she puts them first.
I am lucky to have the chance to coach Olivia again in her senior season next year. I know exactly what we will get from Olivia and I know that she will add great value to our team. She will bring great energy, work hard, and put others first. I hope you get the chance to get to know Olivia and have her apart of your school or team. There is no doubt she will be a positive presence and will make a positive impact.
Sincerely,
Stafford W. Spreter
