Christina Zaggia '10 Recruiting Profile

I am 5'2'' and approximately 125 pounds. I can run from home to first base in a little over three seconds. I am a patient hitter and do not strike out often. Last high school season I only struck out four times. My Junior year I was a captain on our JV team. Every day I put in my best effort and practice just the same as I would playing a game. I take practice very seriously and take that time to not only get better, but to also start focusing on the next game and what I have to do to be my best. When it is time to take the field you will never see me strolling. When I go out I run, and am the first person on my team to take their position. I take pride in what I do, and that is how I play. Since I was ten years old I have been saying 'I'm going to play softball in college,' and I have never looked back. I am looking to go to a big school that has a very good academic program along with sports program. Whether it is public or private does not matter. I would prefer the college to be on a division level, but getting play time is what I am most concerned about. I do not want to go to an all girls school, and would prefer the college to be either in urban or suburban city/town. I am going to need some form of financial aid. I would like to major in Kinesiology/Exercise Science and/or sports medicine. As to playing softball in college I will take any opportunity I can get. It would be fantastic if a Division I school notices me, but I will be just as happy if another school wants me to play for them. Having the opportunity to contribute to a team and be a positive addition to a team is what I really want.
