January 2015Personal Statement
My goal is to play college softball. I know that you likely don't see many girls from Montana, but if you give me a look, I can promise I will work hard and make an immediate impact on your program.
I've been able to balance a heavy school load, including two honors courses as a junior, as well as participating in varsity basketball and varsity softball. I maintain a 4.04 GPA.
I am involved in student senate, which is a group of about 5% of the student body selected by school faculty to provide input to school administration regarding problems/issues at our school.
During the 2014 school year, I am involved in the Interact Club, which is a club that performs community service throughout Billings.
During the 2015 school year, I was selected to participate in Youth Leadership Billings. 10 juniors are chosen from each of the 3 high schools in Billings to participate in a program that has the following goals for participants: To acquaint our young leaders with the Billings area: its history, government, judicial system, health and social services, businesses and economics; to motivate young leaders to become more involved in volunteerism by educating them about the issues and needs of the community; to expose students to potential career choices through interaction with community leaders and professionals; to provide the opportunity for students from our high schools to meet and establish relationships with one another through meaningful interaction.
In addition, I have been a varsity softball team captain for the last two years and am currently a varsity team captain for basketball.
