Madalyn Cooksey '15 Recruiting Profile

Softball has had a huge influence on me since the day I first picked up a bat. The sport has been a part of my life since first grade, and has provided me with some of the greatest memories I have. It led me to my best friend and has made me a better person by teaching me how to be a team player. Some experiences associated with certain softball games have blessed me with memories I will never forget, such as winning the sectional championship and allowing me to be a part of the Musial Awards. More importantly, though, softball led me to the greatest friends I have had. I am still friends with girls I met in the first grade through softball, and I keep making more and more new friends through it. My dream is to be a coach of a softball team in the future so that I may help girls experience what I did. If I am able to lead girls to a championship or coach them to a victory in nationals, that would be a wonderful feeling, but if I could help the girls learn to work with each other and encourage them to become friends and be team players, it would be one of the greatest accomplishments in my life.
