Personal Statement

My name is Leah Loch, I've been playing softball since I was 7 years old. I'm 5'9" and weigh about 155. I feel that my greatest assets as a player are my strong arm, great glove, quickness, and knowledge of the game. I've been playing 1st base or infield my whole career until recently being moved to catcher because of the need to fill that position for the team. My softball team has won many state titles since 2002, most summer and fall leagues. The most recent title being 2010 fall ball state champions. My most important characteristics as a softball player is my work ethic, putting more time in the batting cages and on the softball field than any other players. I'm very focused, and competitive, and love to play softball. I also contribute to the organization by assisting younger girls with hitting and fielding clinics. I would love to continue my softball career playing in college, I couldn't imagine not playing the game that I have such a passion for. I would like to go to a school where I can get a good education and be apart of a competitive softball program. Location of the school isn't that big of a concern. Most likely I will qualify for federal aid because of the disability that my dad has. As far as my major goes I've narrowed it down to about 3 choices. Those choices being Criminal Justice, Art, and Physical Trainer. But I'm still undecided. My goals for playing softball in college are to compete at a high level of competition, and to contribute to the team with the best of my ability.
