Personal Statement

Hello Coach,

My name is Hannah Lynn Schneider, a sophomore attending St. Johns High School located in St. Johns, Michigan. I currently have a 3.93 GPA and will graduate in 2013 with the desire to attend a university that has an outstanding academic curriculum. I am currently undecided regarding my major of study however; I am intrigued by the fields of dentistry and biology.  I am also interested in Spanish.  My passion is to also continue my athletic career in softball at the highest collegiate level possible in or out of state. I have been playing softball as a catcher for ten of my sixteen years. I currently bat third with an average of .425. I continue to develop every aspect of my game by attending skills camps, receiving individual hitting and catching instruction, and playing on competitive U16, and U18 travel/club teams.

During my freshman year I earned the Varsity catcher position, which I still hold today. Our team also earned second in the CAAC Red Division, All-Academic, and captured the District Title for the past two years. Individually, as a freshman, I was named 1st Team All League, All-District Honorable Mention, and honored to receive our Coach's Award. As a sophomore, I earned 1st Team All-League, All-District, and All-Region recognition. I have also been recently named as a Captain for our 2012 high school season.

In addition to my desire to succeed academically, athletically I also bring strong leadership skills to the field. I feel communication is extremely important amongst players and I am committed to the success of the teams I am privileged to play on. I am determined, patient under pressure, and dedicated to persevere against the opponent.

Attached you will find a referral letter from my high school coach, Barry Palmer, and my summer travel team schedules. I hope that you will consider attending a game to view my capabilities as a catcher. My skills video and up to date stats are now available for you to review on www.ncsasports.org.

I hope that you find my academic and athletic achievements appealing. I look forward to the opportunity for us to discuss the possibility of me becoming a member of your collegiate family.

Sincerely,

Hannah Lynn Schneider
