Abigail McGee TMB...Personal Statement
I am a mentally tough athlete and am always evaluated as a coachable, team player. In fact, I was recently selected to 1st Team All-Macomb, named All-Conference MVP and received our high school Coaches award, for my dedication, sportsmanship and leadership. I have been working hard in the classroom, in my community and on the field, to reach my goals of earning a scholarship and playing college ball.
I enjoy playing softball year round, but keep my life balanced by staying active in HOSA, Band, ASL Club & Varsity Club, while working part-time as a waitress at our local cantina. I am a Senior and past TMB 18u National Team Player, where last season I was ranked 16th (by CollegeScoutingBureau.net) out of over 300 athletes, from 10 states who attended TMB sponsored midwest combines.
I just finished my third season, as a starter on Varsity at New Haven High School, where I am the lead-off hitter and play OF, with SS and C as needed. I also playing for Motor City Hit Dogs 16u travel club for the 2016-17 season, where my primary starting position is SS, my secondary position is LF and I also play C when needed. I am considered a strong utility player and have played countless innings at 7 of the 9 defensive positions, as needed in both league games and tournaments.
I have been labeled by a college coach, at a national team evaluation, as a "defensive machine". I look forward to visiting your school, and showcasing my knowledge on the field and love of the game!
