I believe the thing that sets me aside from other recruits is my ability to work under pressure and to go the distance. In my freshman varsity year, I pitched a 1-hit shutout against a team favored to win the state championship. Last year, with Lyme disease, I pitched seven games in 3 days, due to an injury of another pitcher on my team, losing only the last game in the tournament.
Additionally, while I have always enjoyed and performed well in language, history and English, I was less proficient (to say the least), in math. This year I committed to changing that. I worked with Khan Academy on-line and a willing teacher after school and ended breaking 600 on the math SAT and recieved an A grade in honors pre-calulus for the year.
I love the game of softball. I want to be a part of a team that supports each other individually and for a common goal. My coaches have always recognized my leadership abilityI want to bring that to college.
