As a freshman on my high school varsity softball team, I was so proud of myself for having made the team that I got complacent with my work ethic. After starting a few games I got into somewhat of a hitting slump and was subsequently pulled from the lineup for a few games. That experience taught me to work hard and make myself a better player, one worthy of the opportunities I was given. I learned to become a player who got results and made things happen. I have since translated this lesson into many aspects of my life, including the other two sports I have played for my high school since freshman year. This work ethic which was instilled in me has helped me to improve steadily in each of those sports over my three years of high school so far and I firmly believe that it will help me to improve my skills even more dramatically once I focus solely on softball in college.
My goal is to combine my passions for academics and athletics at the strongest, most academically and athletically competitive university as possible. I love the energy of a city, and would like to study business in college. The values that have been instilled in me by my parents and my Catholic faith will help me to become a steadfast member of the team, and a whole-hearted supporter of the program. I accept feedback well and try to work my hardest day in and day out to improve my skills along with my relationships to do what is best for the team. While I am usually quiet at the beginning of a new adventure and usually try to ease my way into a new situation, I give 100% effort every day and will be loud and vocal when I’m competing!
