Laura Kaminski '11 Recruiting Profile

My desire is to get a well-rounded education in the sports related medical field. Since I enjoy the competition in sports, I feel that this is a well chosen path. I have always thrived at and enjoyed all sports that I have competed in. In recent years, I've narrowed down my sports teams to softball and soccer, but I have also played basketball and was a cheerleader. My drive to play softball in college is second only to my education. I am a junior captain of the Varsity softball team at Amesbury High School. I'm a team player, being the varsity catcher I'm first at practice and last to leave. I have coached a travel U-14 town team, and they were league champions. I work hard at all techniques of the game, batting, fielding, and leading. I have recently been inducted into Mu Alpha Theta, Math Honors Society. To qualify for math honors society, you must keep a 3.75 GPA in all math courses. I've tutored individuals with learning disabilities. I also play the saxophone in the school marching band and jazz band. I would like to stay on the east coast for softball, because I enjoy having my family and friends attend my games, but I am open to different locations if the correct academic institution presents itself.
