I am extremely proud to submit this personal statement as part of the NCSA Athletic Recruiting Management system. I look forward to finding the right College/University where I can achieve both my academic and athletic goals, beginning in 2012/2013.
Athletically, I have spent my entire childhood dedicated to the sport of Softball. As such, I am a member of my High School Varsity Team (Brunswick Railroaders) and the Maryland Mystics Travel Softball Team. Year in and year out, I have continued to improve as an individual player and a "go to" team player. I consistently participate in off-season strength and conditioning programs, in addition to hitting and fielding clinics. In fact, I am very proud to share that as a member of the Maryland Mystics 18U, I was chosen as a Most Valuable Player 5 times in 2011, and the Most Improved Player for the entire 2011 season.
Academically, I have equally challenged myself each and ever year. I have alwasy taken all Advanced Placement (AP) courses, I carry a 3.55 GPA, am an Honor Roll student and ranked 43 out of 196. I was not happy with my original SAT scores, and as a result, retook the SAT exams on 12/4/2011,
I am also the daughter of a 100% total and permanent U.S. Navy disabled-veteran. Through my dad's sacrifices for this country, I have been awarded full Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Chapter 35 dinancial aid/benefits. I am certified me for 45 months of financial assistance through the VA at any College/University in the U.S.A.. I would also qualify for other federal financial aids programs should the VA Chapter 35 benefits not cover the entire cost of tuition.
I am very purposeful and driven, and as a result will without any doubt in my mind, excel in both academics and athletics at the College level.Playing collegiate softball means the world to me, and I am very confident that upon meeting me, you will see have a very positive sense of my abilities, determination and commitment to be a productive member of a College/University softball team.
Thank you so much in advance, and I look forward to the next stages of this process.
