Just as the second statement of Buddha's Four Noble Truth's reads, "The cause of suffering is desire." From the moment I step onto and off the softball field, I let the game consume me. I think to myself, "This is where I belong." When I am not playing, I am suffering, wanting to play so much more.
When I first began playing softball, I never even fathomed taking part in it at the collegiate level. Over the years, however, I've come to realize how drastically the game of softball has changed my life, as well as my view on several aspects of it. Softball has led me to become a greater person, who strives to maintain a positive outlook on all mental and real-time situations. As a person who has grown into a more expressive and coachable player, I am extremely passionate, both in the dugout and on the field. I believe that hard work is always appreciated, and that pushing oneself to their limits builds not only strength and physical ability, but a stronger mentality and character.
As a leader, I hope to bring confidence and strength to those around me through my words and actions, just as they have alleviated me during my own tough times. I aim to become someone who my teammates can rely on, not only as a teammate, but as a friend.
