Mony Matney '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mony Matney & I am a student athlete & my biggest goal/dream is to go to an academic school and play collegiate softball. I have been involved in sports & on teams since I was four years old. Softball has had a huge impact on my life. The discipline, commitment, and friendships that come with playing softball are incredible. I have been pitching since I was ten, & I would like to continue this skill at a college level. As a pitcher and a player, I try my hardest to be the best that i can be. I try to stay positive and keep my team up. I am a competitor and I like to WIN! Its not always about winning, but a 'W' is always better than an 'L'. I believe that you should always work harder to get better, there is always something you can improve on. A motto I sometimes say in my head is "Good, Better, Best. Never let it rest until your Good is Better, and your Better is your Best." The next big step I will be taking in my life will be choosing a college to further my education & play softball for.  It is my dream to find the perfect college offering just the right mix of a strong academic program & softball team where I can truly make a difference. I am open to pretty much any school. Playing softball is really important to me, but so is my education. If I can be all all-star in the classroom and on the field, i would feel like my dream is accomplished.
