Personal Statement
My goal is to be a starting player on a midsize to large (5000 - 20,000 students) college team and participate (and win) at the NCAAs. I love to play, love to learn and improve, love to be in pressure situations, love to win. I'm always playing on several teams, have started at every position, bat 3 or 4 in the order, and looked to as team leader and field captain. I have played on American High School, Italian Under 21, A2 and National/Regional Select Teams as well as numerous tournament select teams, including Team USA Camp Team which defeated the Spanish U-18 Junior National Team, and then stayed together to play and win in International Tournaments throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. My most recent accomplishment was winning the Italian A2 national championship, then I also led my DoD high school team to its first European Championship in 2013 as a Sophomore, earning Tournament MVP and selection as All European pitcher, Junior year I led my team to it's second championship, and becoming Europe's Softball Player of the Year. I play with college players as well as National Team members of several countries in Italian Leagues and tournaments. Attended TEAM USA camp and assisted as interpretor in Italy with Laura Berg as outfield coach, Anjelica Seldon as pitching coach.Current pitching coach and teammate is former Czech National Team pitcher Michala Kucharova. I lettered on the local and HS swim team and HS Volleyball team the past three years. I worked very hard and believe they have contributed to my endurance, strength and lack of injuries. I am fluent in Italian and attended Italian school through elementary school before attending DoD HS in Italy. I did not fall back on English as a second language when I moved to the DoD school and while my grades have not been the best initially, they are steadily improving. My mother is a nurse and father a severely disabled veteran and they have instilled a passion and work ethic for sports, learning and being involved in the community and socially. I love softball and really want to compete at the collegiate level.
