Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Elisha Barker, and I play the best sport ever created, softball!  My position is pitcher.  I have always wanted to play softball ever since I was 4 yrs old watching softball players that were my role models because of their life values, success in school and accomplishments in softball.  I want to be that kind of role model for the next generation of softball players.  My favorite pitches are the curve and screw, because I really like working the pitches in and out "on the river"; however, I'm very effective working the ball up and down the zone on the batters with my rise and drop.  Also, I love throwing batters off balance with my change-up. What makes me so effective as a pitcher is that I hit spots with several types of pitches with lots of spin and throwing these pitches at various speeds.  I'm a hard worker that's dedicated to be the best all around softball player as well as a teammate that I can be.  What sets me apart from others is that I've got the academics to go along with softball.  My major, aerospace engineering, is pretty specific and a demanding field that I'm excited to conquer.  I'm committed to excelling in softball and in aerospace engineering.  I have a 4.0 GPA, taking two dual-college credit courses, and am a semester ahead in my studies.  I'm dedicated to my education as well as softball, so I will maintain my 4.0 GPA when traveling to play softball in college.  I hope you can make my dreams come true with playing softball in college, while obtaining my engineering degree.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
