Jordie Close '12 Recruiting Profile

"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." This has been my quote for life, even if your scared of failing don't get down, keep trying and never give up.  My name is Jordie and I have always dreamed of playing college level softball. I never knew if I could make it, or even if it was possible. After three years of varsity level softball at Huntington North High School,  I decided that my dream could actually come true.  I began starting on the Varsity team my Freshman year, I proved I was better then a senior for a spot and ever since then I knew I was destined for greatness. Even though I'm on the small size, weighing 95-100 pounds and  5'2" I consider myself to be a huge player on our team. I have been a leader since sophmore year, keeping the team up and being positive.  I work hard everyday,  I never slack off even if it's an easy practice.  I offer alot for any team I'm on, I bring energy and knowledge to other players, yet I never bring anyone down. 
My sophmore year I had made second team all-conference, even though I was dissappointed with second team I knew I had to prove myself Junior year. So I did, Junior year I accomplished things I never knew was possible. I made first team all-conference, ranked first in NCC, earned a sectional and regional championship with my team , and earned the Scholar Athlete Award.  Even though I accomplished these things, I know greater things are yet to be accoplished my upcoming senior year. 
College is around the corner and deciding where I want to go and what I am looking for is very tough. I know I want to go to a college with a good nursing program and a friendly campus. The size of the college doesn't bother me, even though I would like a smaller student to teacher ratio. Division wise Im up for anything, my dream is to play college level softball, and where ever that takes me I will be happy.  My goals are to play as a freshman and or to make an impact on the team with my aggression and knowledge of the game. Im ready to take on anything life throws at me, so practice till practice makes perfect, then practice some more.
