My name is Lynda Delgado and I'm 5'0" hardworking softball player. Ever since i was a little girl I've always wanted tot play college ball. I am truly dedicated to this sport. My most important accomplishments were being a team leader and being the leader with much spirit and this year I accomplished that because I got the spirit award with my summer league. I have been on varsity softball since my sophomore year in high school.
I have four short term goals. My four short term goals are: graduate high school, get accepted into college, pursue my career and to play softball at that college. I am very passionate for this sport, so that makes me strive even harder to play in college. What I can offer to a a team is the promise to always work hard and never give up because hard work and dedication pays off at the end.
My biggest strength is that I am very coachable, I am vulnerable enough to know I am not perfect, I'm open to honest feedback even though it may hurt and working to actively change bad habits. On my summer ball league currently (Velocity 17u at Dunham Park) I am seen as a leader. Everyone trust me on the team, and we are all like sisters.
When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are very big I am very open minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best. It doesn't matter about size or location as long as I receive good education and play softball I will be very happy. In college, I plan on studying nursing. My inspiration to become a nurse comes from a desire to help and take care those in times of need. I am also a person who is willing to take on a challenge and succeed in the end, so I think nursing would be a good fit.
When deciding a college for me, I'm not set on a division, I want to go where I can share the love of the game with others that feel the same way. I want to make an impact on the team and to little girls as well one day. Knowing at the end of the day I've made a difference would just make me satisfied.
