I am a 2016 graduate currently attending Gateway High School in Kissimmee, Florida. Shortstop is my primary position, although, I also play extensive time at second base and even feel at home roaming the outfield. I have been a Varsity starter since middle school playing at City of Life Christian Academy. Presently, I am the starting shortstop and have been since my freshman year. During the last five summers, I have been playing competitive travel softball currently for the Rebel Pride 18UA Gold.
I am a competitive, loyal, and dedicated team player. My best qualities on the field are my lateral movement and quick transition along with the ability to cover a lot of ground in a short time. Not only am I confident that I can make a difference on the field but also in the batter's box, where I am a confident contact hitter that can become a slapper when the situation calls. When I get on the base pads, I am always a threat to steal.
Even though my passion is softball, I take my academics seriously. My hopes are to play softball for a college/university while attaining the best education available. However, my ultimate long term goal is to pursue a career in Sports Medicine.
Thank you for your time in evaluating my profile, I would be happy to answer any questions you may possibly have. Attached is a printable profile sheet along with my full summer schedule.
Respectfully,
Desiree Fernandez
