Jessica Osteen '12 Recruiting Profile

My coaches and father have always told me I have been blessed as a power hitter that can also hit for average. While I was blessed with the natural ability I have worked hard to refine my skills. Having had pneumonia twice before the age of five has given me a unique perspective on life and a determination to succeed at whatever I decide to do. Even though I have out grown the horrible bouts with pneumonia, I have never forgotten the lessons I learned from them nor the life lessons and morals my parents instilled in me that transcend the field of play and even college life. "In order to succeed at anything in life you must be willing to work hard and become the best you can possibly be including working until you are better at it than the person in front of you on the field, in class, or in life." Growing up in my house a college degree has always been an expectation and from age ten I have had a desire to play college softball and receive a quality education. I am an academically driven student that works tirelessly to maintain my grades and makes time to workout year round for the game I have a passion for; softball. I will work tirelessly to deserve everything I earn on a softball team, in a classroom, and in life. I look forward to helping a college program achieve their goals starting in 2013 by being the best teammate, player, and student I can be.
