I have been playing softball since I was four years old. I love the game and it is absolutely part of my soul. I am a starter in the outfield for my club team, Colorado Next Level, and have been playing varsity at my high school since freshman year. I have traveled extensively with my club teams to national tournaments for the last five years. This has exposed me to critical game situations, playing against some of the best teams in the country. In 2015 I was selected as an All Star by my club team for the Triple Crown Sparkler. The college coaches from my Sparkler All Star team said that I stood out among my peers and selected me to play in the Triple Crown Sparkler All-American game.
I am looking forward to pursuing my educational goals while playing softball in college. I am very interested in exercise science, kinesiology and pre-physical therapy programs. In fall of 2016 I visited the cadaver lab with my Human Anatomy class, at Regis University in Denver, and found it to be very interesting. The human body is amazing and understanding how everything works together is very intriguing to me, and therefore why I want to pursue this area of study in college.
I am very committed to my strength and conditioning practices, partially because it is a way to apply my knowledge that I am gaining about how the human body performs. I have a trainer that played minor league baseball and we work very hard to strengthen muscles that are prone to injury, due to softball. In addition, we focus on overall strength and agility. I recently reduced my 20 yard dash time from 2.9 to 2.7 seconds. I also improved my overhand throw speed from 58 to 62 mph. Pushing my body to perform at it's optimal level is what drives me in my training every day.
I am very committed to my goals - educational, softball and training. I am looking forward to the next step by attending college and bringing my work ethic and positive attitude to an amazing softball team.
