Who am I?
My name is Molly Booker and I live in Roseville, California. I am in the Class of 2018 at Woodcreek High School. Go Timberwolves!
As an athlete…
I have been involved in organized sports since I was 5 years old. I have played softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics.
I currently play both competitive softball for the U18 West Coast Premier- Franklin and competitive soccer for FC Sporting Zoom. Since both sport seasons here occur in the spring, I have chosen to play softball in high school. I play up an age division because I am working very hard on my skills to play softball at the collegiate level.
I love softball…
I love that softball is not only an individual sport, but a team one. You rely on yourself to do your best, but your team is always there to back you up. I enjoy the competitive aspect of the sport, but the camaraderie of a team makes it feel like a family.
No matter what type of a day I have had, once the game starts and my adrenaline gets pumping, I am ready to play!
As a softball player…
On my first A Ball team, I used to only play 3rd base, but the coach told me I was also needed in the outfield and middle infield, so I learned to play those positions as well. On my new team I have been starting at 2nd base, shortstop, 3rd base and outfield. Now that I play them all consistently, I am having a hard time deciding which position I like best.
As a student…
School has not always come easily for me, but I have had success as an athlete. If I am struggling with an assignment at school, I just remember how in softball the inning or game is not over until the last out, and I keep pushing through.
I can benefit a team because…
I am willing to do whatever the team needs. If we are in need of something done on the field, I can play several different positions. If we are struggling with batting, I can put down a bunt or sacrifice to advance players or get in a run. I can steal or be aggressive on the bases to make things happen.
What my teammates might say…
I am supportive of everyone, am fun to be around, but am serious about my job on the field. I am someone they can count on to get things going or to pump up the team.
What my coaches might say…
I pay attention, work hard, and do what they tell me to do. I do not miss signs, I play smart, am a team player, and they can rely on me to do what is necessary for the team when the game is on the line.
I want college coaches to know…
I am a hardworking athlete and a serious student. I am supportive of my teammates and do not cause drama. I am coachable and will always give you my best attitude and effort.
Thank you for giving me a chance to fulfill my goal of playing collegiate softball while I earn my undergraduate degree. I will not disappoint you!
