Katie Koen '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9" senior middle infielder from DeWitt, Arkansas. I have started as a varsity second baseman on my high school team for the past 3 years; however, I have played travel ball for 8 years. I was selected Arkansas 84A All-Conference my sophomore and Junior year. I play second base and bat fourth on my high school varsity team. I had a .413 batting average as a freshman, a .400 batting average as a sophomore, and a .507 batting average as a junior. I currently have a 4.0448 GPA, am ranked 3rd in the class, and have a 29 ACT score.

My dad played college football at Arkansas-Monticello and it has been a dream of mine to play at the college level. I have played for several different coaches with different coaching styles and have been able to adapt well with each coach. I bring a hard working, positive attitude to the field and believe in leading by example. The summer of 2011 our team won the Arkansas State USSSA tournament, Arkansas Babe Ruth State Tournament, Babe Ruth Southwestern Regional Champions, 4th place USFA Southern Nationals, and 4th place Babe Ruth World Series. We repeated with another 4th place finish in the World Series in 2012. I was selected as an MVP in the World Series.

 I am open to all schools (all levels) where I will have an oppurtunity to compete for playing time. I am undecided on a major at this point but I am interested in Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine.
