I started playing recreational softball when I was 8 years old. I quickly fell in love with the game. All I wanted to do was play softball. I joined my first club team when I was 10, and haven't stopped playing since. I live in Prescott, Arizona. It is a small town 90 miles north of Phoenix. Prescott has very limited options of competitive club softball for girls my age. None of the local teams play all year. I knew I wanted to play year round softball. At the age 12 I asked my parents if I could try out for a club ball team in Phoenix. Not only did I really want to push myself to be a better player, I wanted to be on a competitive winning team. I tried out and made the L'il Saints Club 14U "A" softball team. I'm extremely grateful to my parents for allowing me to play for this organization and for taking me to Phoenix, a three hour round trip, every Tuesday and Thursday for my team practices. We also play in tournaments every other weekend. I am an extremely dedicated, hard worker and I am constantly setting new goals for myself. I practice everyday on my own, as well as with my team. I take private hitting and fielding lessons. My coach has told me that I am the hardest working player he has ever coached. I'm very coachable and I always strive to become a better individual and teammate. I try to be a team leader on and off the field. I do my best to lead by example. I am an extremely competitive person and I put my heart into every game. I don't give up because I want to win more than anybody.
In the classroom, I have the same work ethic. I understand that education is my top priority and study hard to be the best student I can be. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and continue to work hard to maintain it. Even when I have to do my homework in the car on the long drives to and from Phoenix for practice. As of right now I'm a member of Key Club where I volunteer in the community. I am looking for a college where I can push myself to be better in the classroom and on the field. I desire to play at the highest level of competition possible for myself. I believe I would be a great asset to any team. I feel that playing for the L'il Saints has taught me to manage my time well and that will be a great benefit as I work to accomplish my collegiate goals. My goal when I finish college is to be a registered nurse.
