I was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan. I attended Kalamazoo College where I was the starting center for the women’s basketball team. I currently hold the all-time record for most rebounds in a game at twenty-two rebounds. I graduated with honors from Kalamazoo with a B.A. in Business and Art History. Being the first kid in my family I know how daunting, as well as overwhelming, the recruiting process can be. During my junior year of high school, I tore my ACL and meniscus in a soccer game and was out for six months.
Right before I was going to be cleared to play for my senior year basketball season, I tore the same ACL and meniscus again. I was devastated and thought I was going to have to give up on the dream of playing at the collegiate level. I was lucky enough to have found NCSA to help me figure out what steps I needed to take to get my name and skills out there to coaches even when I couldn’t play the year before. While working with NCSA in high school as a student athlete, and now working here as an employee, I appreciate how much everyone works so hard to make a difference in families lives. No athlete should feel like they can’t play at the college level because of the recruiting timeline itself, and we are here to pave the way for every student to have a smooth, fun, and memorable process.
