I was born and raised in Oklahoma. I was recruited to play both baseball and football at the University of Oklahoma. I got drafted out of high school by the Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB draft. I played 6 years in the minor leagues with Tampa. After my playing career I coached in both HS and in college at Oklahoma City University. I took a job as an area scout for the Philadelphia Phillies and covered 6 states in any given year. I was with the Phillies for 6 years when the Braves gave me an opportunity to come back home to Oklahoma and cover 4 states here. Since scouting I have also taught and coached at the high school level as well as coaching high level baseball in the summer.
I coached because I loved helping student athletes reach their goals and potential. That is the same reason I love NCSA. I get to be a part of a student athletes journey and success.
