I joined NCSA after 3 decades of coaching football in high school, college, and the professional ranks. I’ve enjoyed being a head coach on five separate occasions and have the distinction of being the founder of American Football Monthly, the trade journal for football coaches.
I went to high school in Shadyside, Ohio where I was a 3 sport athlete (Football, Wrestling, and Track). While competing in Track I was a state champion in the discus throw and I was able to start a new wrestling team at my high school that has gone on to have great success.
I went to Capital University and was an all-conference performer 3 years in a row and following my senior season I was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1984 NFL Draft. After a journeyman career in the professional ranks, I received my teaching certification in Biology and then started on my path of teaching and coaching.
NCSA affords me the opportunity to do what I enjoy, and that is to work with families in the recruiting process so their child can go on to have a successful career in college and beyond.
In addition to my role as Recruiting Specialist, I am the podcast host of The Manny Matsakis Show which is a critically-acclaimed show ranked in the Top 10 for Football Coaches worldwide.
I reside in Ohio with my wife, 9-year-old son, and our Golden Retriever.
