I have played basketball my entire life but a broken leg my senior year of high school prevented me from playing in college. I decided to channel my skills, experience, and passion into other areas of the game and became involved with the Southern Illinois University men’s basketball program. During my three years as a manager for the team and my senior year working as the video coordinator, Chris Lowery and Barry Hinson provided me with an invaluable learning experience. I have been able to observe and learn from their individual styles: how they have recruiting, film, scouting reports, travel plans and overall how to run a Division 1 athletic program.
Following my graduation from SIUC – I attended Northern Illinois University to pursue my Master’s Degree in Sports Management. During that time I was Graduate Assistant for the Student-Athlete-Academic Service Center. While working with the NIU Men’s Basketball program as well. Volunteering my time to help out with their video operations.
Prior to working at NCSA. I was the Head Coach at Combine Basketball Academy of Atlanta. Playing against some of the top prep schools across the country. While working with my players to get them recruited and placed at college basketball programs across the country.
My final stop before coming back home to Chicago was at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, FL. I was an assistant coach for our HS and Post Graduate basketball programs. While also handling responsibilities as the Director of Operations & Video Coordinator for the entire basketball academy.
Working NCSA at has been an amazing transition for me coming from the basketball world. It’s allowed me to work with student-athletes and their families on how to properly navigate the Recruiting Process. I unsuccessfully attempted the recruiting process while I was s senior in HS. So it’s nice to use my experiences to help point families in the right direction.
